Heatmaps are ideal for visualizing the relationships between two or more datasets using coloring and position in a matrix. One category is displayed on the rows and another on the columns creating a grid that is color-coded based on the data. Heatmaps are ideal to quickly display patterns in correlations, but are not ideal for showing fine differences.
